Day Two 5/26/08

Phil and I got up a lot last night to check on Tilly and the pups. We needed to make sure that Tilly did not squash the pups.

The next day as the day before, Tilly stayed in the box with the pups and very seldom wandered out. She went potty, ate and tended to the pups, who seemed to eat a lot. She did however make one trip down to Muriel's tent looking for her before Muriel took the tent down.

Noel and Joanne came to see them. Noel looked in the window but Joann came in the room. Rich also came back to see them.

Mary, Michael, Michelle, Rhys, Muriel and Phil and I are the only ones taking the pups out of Tilly's whelping box. Julia would not come in by the pups and only watched from the window, she said that she was going to take the yellow one when it got bigger. One of the times that Tilly was outside Libby went in and touched the pups with Mary. Kyle also went into the bedroom with one of us and touched the pups.

Muriel and Rhys measured the puppies legs and all of them were the same length except for the smallest one, Orange, who's legs are shorter. (Maybe this is because of his size).

They were born with pink noses and pink paws. They had little tiny toenails and the book said I had to cut them. I need to wait and ask the vet about this.

Also, my niece Julia was the winner of the pool. She correctly guessed how many would have short legs, how many were in the litter and the day the pups would be born. No one guessed the correct amout of girls. $3.50 was in the pool.

Fact: Bichon's have short legs and wide bodies and poodles have long legs and skinny bodies. Also, Bichon's are white and have shorter noses than poodles. Tilly was mixed with a golden poodle.
